Fillers are additives that primarily modify physico-mechanical properties such as Young’s modulus, impact resistance, stiffness and dimensional stability.
Of the numerous fillers for extensive modification of the property profiles of the basic polymers, the following are noteworthy:
- glass fibres,
- glass beads,
- mineral fibres,
- talc,
- calcium carbonate,
- mica,
- barium sulphate
- and many more.
